BioName: Maria Catherine (Lennox) Edgecombe

Year: graduated, class of '72
Appearance: Wavy light reddish-brown hair, hazel eyes. About 5'4", same as her daughter will be. She tries to maintain a very professional appearance, especially with her job. Neat and trim, she's nearly always clean, quite a feat when one works with the Floo, and dresses smartly.
Personality: The most noticeable facet of Maria's personality is her, er, inability to deal with reality. It's not a problem as long as things are going well, but whenever something happens that she can't deal with, she'll just shut down completely and attempt to pretend that it isn't happening (she's probably a lot like her future daughter in that respect). She's also quite shy, the result of having grown up in a sheltered household. She dreams of adventure and excitement (hence the reason she took a job in the Department of Transportation), but her timidity stops it from actually happening (despite having the world at her fingertips, Maria has never been outside of the UK).
History: Maria is the only daughter of Purebloods Joseph and Martha Lennox. Her family is rather traditional, and so she grew up in a very sheltered household and had always been very obedient, never a problem child. She was sorted into Ravenclaw when she began at Hogwarts in 1965 and took Ancient Runes, Arithmancy and Care of Magical Creatures as her electives, as she thought Divination was silly and didn't foresee herself ever dealing with Muggles, as it was planned she'd have an arranged marriage to a proper Pureblood boy upon leaving Hogwarts.
By the time she left, however, she asked her parents to hold out on arranging a marriage until she turned twenty-one. She'd been offered a good job at the Ministry and her dreams of adventure were still there (and perhaps she does have a bit of the same Seer blood as her future daughter ^^). All she wanted was a little time to be independent before settling down, and knowing that their daughter, who had never given them problems before, would not make a fuss when that date arrived, her parents agreed. At this, the summer before her twenty-first birthday, the excitement and adventure still hasn't occurred, but that's all about to change...
